Welcome to Granlid’s Apple Orchard!

Granlid’s apple orchard is located in the archipelago municipality of Vårdö in Åland. Today, the orchard is run by brothers Carl and Ville Koivisto through their joint company, Granlid’s Apple AB. We are the fourth generation of apple growers on the family farm, where commercial apple cultivation was started in 1943 by our great-grandparents, Carl and Valna Granlid.
Granlid – unique in its own way
Our goal is to offer our customers the highest quality apples for the Finnish market, while at the same time keeping pace with today’s developments and needs.

Modern packing technology at the forefront of Europe

Craftsmanship and quality from the archipelago
Our carefully selected apple varieties
On our farm, we cultivate a wide range of apple varieties, carefully chosen for their flavor, storability, and suitability to the archipelago climate.
What’s happening at Granlid’s Apples
There’s always something going on here – big or small. This is where we share what’s happening right now on the farm, in the orchards, and in the packing house.

New sorting hall
After many years of planning, our new packing hall is now complete. With a modern sorting facility, cold storage, and improved logistics, we are taking the next step in handling our apples – from orchard to customer.

Late season
This year’s growing season has been characterized by a cool spring and later blossoming, which means that the harvest is delayed compared to last year. At the same time, the cool August weather provides favorable conditions for beautifully colored fruit.
We cultivate in the same soil as our great-grandfather – with the same care and pride.
Granlid’s apple orchard is a family business that was founded by Carl and Valna Granlid in 1943. Today, the orchard is carried on by their great-grandchildren, Carl and Ville. We are passionate about uniting tradition with innovation.
